We have been wearing odd socks today to start Anti-Bullying Week!
The reason we are doing this is to help empower the children to celebrate what makes them, and others, unique and understand that it is important to choose respect. Also to help them understand how important it is that every child feels valued and included in school, able to be themselves, without fear of bullying.
We are proud to be supporting Anti-bullying Week which we will be running from 15 November until the 19 November. The theme for this year’s campaign will be ‘One Kind Word’.
Our Remembrance Service this morning was impeccably observed by all children across the school. We were immensely proud to see how well the children conducted themselves and showed respect and compassion alongside Reverend Roberts and members of the community who joined our service.
Throughout the week, all children will be introduced to a famous mathematician a day and during daily active time sessions, children will be tackling challenges involving counting, measure and time linked to their PE skills. As a school, Years 2-6 will be taking part in the TT Rock Stars competition - 'England Rocks 2021'.
UPDATE:
Congratulations to Year 6 who achieved a fantastic score of 22,972 points in our TTRockStars England Rocks competition. A huge well done to everyone who took part. A special mention goes to our youngest ‘Numbot’ players from EYFS and KS1, in particular to Aria in Year 2 who made it into the TTRockStars ‘top 10’ with members of KS2!
Yesterday four of our boys competed in the District Cross Country event at Longdean School running as a team. We are extremely proud of their effort and determination.
Well done boys.
As part of our commemorations of Remembrance Day this year, the children have transformed bottle bases into these beautiful poppies! They help to remind us of those who sacrificed so much on our behalf.
