Our curriculum has been created to ensure each and every child flourishes by offering stimulating and inspiring learning experiences with our Christian values at its heart. At Potten End C of E Primary School, the language-rich curriculum we are designing aims to build upon children’s prior learning, provides first-hand learning experiences, allows the children to develop interpersonal skills, build resilience and become creative, curious, confident thinkers. We are passionate about providing opportunities for children to apply their skills both inside, and outside the classroom.
We follow the National Curriculum with subjects being taught both discretely and as part of carefully planned topics. Within these topics we carefully incorporate key skills as well as subject specific skills which are applied across the curriculum plan to give a holistic approach to learning, sometimes led by children’s interests.
We reflect on the impact and adapt our curriculum to provide challenge and support to enable all children to become happy, passionate, inquisitive learners who are ready for the challenges ahead.
Our approach to the curriculum is compliant with the Equality Act 2010 and is accessible to children with disabilities and special educational needs.
