If a child cannot attend school, the parent/carer should inform the school by e-mail (preferable) telephone, or note of explanation before 9.15am on the first day of absence. Should a parent need to withdraw their child before the end of the school day, for example, for a medical appointment, they should let the class teacher and School Office know in advance. When delivering or collecting a child within the school day, parents/carers should ensure that they sign their child in or out in the register outside the School Office.
Parents should ensure that holidays are not taken during term time. However, if this is not possible, parents may obtain leave of absence for up to two weeks (ten school days) in any one school year. This should be applied for in advance, using the form available below or from the reception area, giving as much notice as possible (please also take the time to read the accompanying letter from the County Council regarding absence from school – please see below). Unless there are exceptional circumstances, all leave taken in term time will not be authorised. Please see below the School Attendance Policy.
