On Thursday Potten End welcomed a STEM Ambassador to facilitate this year's Year 5 & 6 K’NEX Challenge. The children enjoyed taking on a challenge to use K’NEX to design a bridge that could open and close for boats to pass.
The children demonstrated amazing resilience and learnt that engineering takes a lot of planning and perseverance! The bridges had to be movable and they used gears and joints to create a strong, purposeful structure. Designs created included a vertical lift bridge, transporter bridge and a swing bridge. In Year 6 Henry, Kaylan and Harry’s transporter bridge was the winning structure.
