Reception have been learning about food, where it comes from and how to prepare it. On Wednesday they spent the morning at Pizza Express in Berkhamsted, learning how to create a pizza.
Thank you to the management and team at Pizza Express for giving our Reception children this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be pizza chefs and to all parents and carers who came along to support our Reception class.
Today we are taking part in the "No Such Thing As Normal Day" as part of the International Day of Acceptance.
The children came to school dressed in an outfit they feel good in.
Potten End Primary raised an amazing £216.70 in support of the Poppy Appeal.

On 26th November, members of Year 5 took part in a Dodgeball Tournament held at Abbots Hill. Twelve teams from ten schools competed. Potten End played in 7 matches in total and successfully made it through to the semi-finals, winning a silver medal! We are very proud of them.
Our Spiritual Leaders, alongside Mrs Hall and our governors were true ambassadors for the school on Sunday during Holy Trinity’s Remembrance Service. They read with pride and conducted themselves beautifully - well done children.
In exchange for a donation to Children in Need, children came to school in clothes of their choice. We were pleased to donate £223.50 which was raised for this worthwhile charity.
This week was Anti-bullying week - the theme ‘Respect’.
We focused on this important message in assemblies and during activities within the classroom, all week long, supporting our core principles of: friendship, respect and perseverance.
To start Anti-Bullying Week 2024 off on a really positive note, children came to school on Tuesday 12 November wearing odd socks. This is to help empower the children to celebrate what makes them, and others, unique and understand that it is important to choose respect. Also to help them understand how important it is that every child feels valued and included in school, able to be themselves, without fear of bullying.
We could not have been more proud during our Remembrance Service led by Rev Ben Brady on Monday. Children aged 4 upwards showed compassion and respect during the two minute silence and sang beautifully.
During the morning the children served as workers and slaves, finishing the construction of a new city to honour the god Aten, by carrying out tasks such as bread making, tomb painting, ink making, scroll writing and perfume-cone making.
The afternoon featured an Egyptian banquet with King Akhenaten and Queen Nefertiti, where we were entertained by dancers, story tellers, actors and an appearance from the Apis Bull, who tried to predict what the future held for our pharaoh and our new city. It was an amazing experience and a fantastic way to end their history topic.
