As you may well be aware, increasing cuts to school budgets are proving an ongoing challenge to many schools, including Potten End.

At our school we aim to provide high quality education, alongside the care and support for the children. We feel it is vital that this is both sustained and enhanced.

As a Governing Body, we are here to guide and support the school and  the leadership team and to this end we have launched our own

“Parent Giving Scheme” where we ask parents/carers to consider donating their time or money to the school, to help enrich our children’s environment, fund ongoing maintenance of critical infrastructure and to offer a greater range of enrichment to the current school curriculum.

Parent Giving Schemes are now common place in both primary and secondary schools both in Hertfordshire and nationally.

MONEY

If you do feel you might be able to spare a small amount every month (suggested donation is £10 per month PER FAMILY) it would be greatly appreciated.

There are several ways you can contribute to the school financially:

• STANDING ORDER set up either through your online banking or by completing a Standing Order form, available from your bank - our bank account details are set out at the bottom of this page.
• CASH/CHEQUE Please clearly label any envelopes “Parent Giving Scheme” – please make cheques payable to “Potten End C of E Primary School”

TIME/RESOURCES

We appreciate that a financial donation is not always feasible but that many parents may have the time to volunteer within the school or indeed be able to provide resources we could use within the school eg:

• Volunteering within the school
• Listening to our children read
• Taking part in “painting parties”
• Helping to tidy and organise our own dedicated Forest School
• Donations of stationery, hand sanitisers, gardening items or perhaps sports equipment, for example, would all be very welcome.

A list will of specific needs will be posted here in due course but please do email the school office if you feel either yourself or perhaps your business may be able to offer some assistance.

HOW DOES THIS WORK WITH FRIENDS OF SCHOOL?

We are blessed to have one of the most successful, energised and passionate Friends of School in the area and in recent years we have seen them regularly upwards of  £10,000 annually from their range of events they run throughout the year, which has paid for an amazing array of special purchases, from iPads, to sports uniforms to playground markings and equipment.

Perhaps more importantly, the fundraising events our Friends of School make a significant contribution to the sense of fun and community within and around the school and we all wish to see this continue.

The Parent Giving Scheme is not an alternative to Friends of School fundraising and will be run in parallel to this.

We do hope that you feel able to consider donating financially or physically to support our lovely school.
